Wind - 16-24knots
Kite - Ozone C4 7m (half depowered)
Time on water 2.5 hours in total
Aim to get jumping cleaner, continue with carving turns and start new stuff!
Well I had a good few hours yesterday, aided by my friend Richard doing acupuncture on my arm yesterday which has really released by shoulders and back loads! I didnt push it too hard today as I didnt want to do any damage to myself.
Nothing much to say really. As you can tell I am tired and in a fair amount of consistent pain now. I need a good nights sleep and a long bath!!
Still loving having Kara staying with me, although Oli left yesterday and I miss him alot as he made me smile when we were not on the water.
The Boys are as always hilarious and make me chuckle all day!!

Session 31 - Dakhla, Morocco
Wind - 18 to 28 knots
Kite - C4 7m
Time on water - 45 mins
Aim to start back rolls
Well after a lazy day yesterday as I couldn't man up to a consistent 28-33 knots. I decided that I really needed to get out on the water today. I should have learned after 10 weeks away that I cannot kite for shit when I am tired. I managed to land a few jumps and then made a mess of the others so i took to wrapping up warm and helping Oli with the timing on his kiteloops!
I really hope that tomorrow the wind dies down as it is getting a little annoying not being able to jump like I want to!!

Session 30 - Dakhla, Morocco
Wind - gusting between 18 and 26 knots
Kite - C4 7m
Aim - to nail my carving turns
Conditions - wavey in the centre and chop
ANother day of alot of wind and it was a little to much for me to try anything new so I just had an hour of playing in the waves today and practised further what I was working on yesterday.
I know I need to man up to gusty wind, and to be honest it is more my lack of energy which is letting me down at the moment - not enough water me thinks.
Nothing exciting to tell really. OH Some English guys arrived today. 3 Osteopaths from Brighton, very funny and great company, they have now joined the group! Made for a very amusing dinner!

Session 29 - Dakhla, Morocco (friday)
Wind - between 24 and 28knots
Kite - Ozone C4 7m
Conditions - slight chop with a small swell in the middle
Aim - To get back the jumping mojo!
Time on water - 1.5 hours
I ache all over now I am back on the water and I cannot do the sort of sessions that I was doing in Eygpt at the moment - more cardio required!!
I had a good session on the water today and started trying heel to toe carves and then coming out of them again. It took me a while and a break to loosen my harness but I got there eventually. I was also practising my jumping again which felt really nice. I think I am a really social kiter and having Oli and Kara here has helped me loads with getting my passion back again. I will never kite alone - boring!! LOL
Another chilled evening with a few drinks - for those who may come here - they do serve alcohol here and so you can have a lovely mohito after your session and not have to make it yourself with the contents of duty free!

Session 28 - Dakhla, Morocco (thursday)
Wind - 16knots
Kite - Ozone C4 10m
Time on water - 2 hours
Aim - get used to surroundings and get used to having relatively flat water again!
So when they said it was a massive lagoon - they didnt lie! It is a gorgeous spot although when people say flat my immediate thoughts turn to that of Egypt but this is a little more choppy but definitely flat compared to the previous month of my trip.
Nothing very exciting to tell about this session. The wind is gusty, but no where near as bad as Essaouira and the water is warm which is nice considering I spend far to much time in it!!
I met some really nice people here today too which makes a pleasant change from the lonely feelings that I had for the majority of the time that I was in Essaouira. One english girl and her friend from Belgium / South Africa (dont ask). So we had dinner and some rum this evening which was really fun and I am glad that I no longer feel so alone. Here's to a good end of trip!

The final hurdle – Dakhla Attitude.
So after a 3 hours car journey with a driver I can only describe as Jenson Button wannabe, I finally arrive at Agadir airport. I check my baggage in and I amazed yet again that it started the journey on 28kgs and according to the scales at the airport it is now weighing in at 33.4.......HOW!! I have less stuff! Maybe more sand.... who knows. Anyway I was even more surprised that I didn’t have to pay for the pleasure of carrying an over sized body bag!! I look around and realise that this airport was going to be my home for the next 2.5 hours and then realise that there is nothing to do! Coffee and a sandwich was about as good as it gets!! I settle in for the duration. A 1.5 hour flight takes me direct to Dakhla. Officially the smallest airport I have yet to see and I have been to Bournemouth! I arrive and go through passport control and then bang my luggage arrives too, happy days. What would a kite trip be without kites!
A friendly team take my bag and me to Attitude. Now Dakhla looks more like Egypt, no plants. No life and just desert for miles around which in a strange way has warmed my heart. The drive was awesome, if only these 2 really annoying French girls would shut up!! All the way in the car – yap yap yap yap. Now why they are here I don’t know. They arrive with hardly any luggage and they are wearing heels, so I doubt they kite but I could be very wrong!! Anyway they are annoying and whilst I am sat outside the bar (hoped to get online but no joy, I am not allowed the code till tomorrow) they are just inside already getting hammered on Mohitos, hopefully some salt water will sort them out! So attitude reminds me very much of Wadi Lahami, arse end of nowhere and either tents or bungalows to stay in. When it is described as basic – it really is! The shower room is on the back of my bungalow and all the write ups about the water were not a lie. I washed my hands after going to the loo and they now smell of sulphur!! I doubt I will be washing any of my clothes whilst I am here – fact! I am also glad of my limited requirement to use my baby wipes whilst I have been away so far!!
The bay is just as stunning as the magazines describe and to arrive and still see a kiter on the water at 8pm enlightens my soul!! Although looking at the forecast the wind is similar to that of the Canaries and Essaouira, it fills in late morning / early afternoon so a good excuse to have a lay in and a late breakfast!!
I am hoping to see some more progress with my kiting whilst I am here after what I have considered a brick wall period for the last few days.
10 days and home too!!
My last day and then to Dakhla.
Following yesterdays debacle with the german I was feeling no love at all to kite so I had a very lazy morning, feeling very sorry for myself and missing home and my boy. I was in tears, which as many of you know is not like me. I am not sure what has been up with me since I arrived in Morocco. I am not sure if is because I am homesick or just because I am missing Ben, or just because I am bored of forcing myself to kite every day. I guess anything that starts to feel like a chore becomes a burden and for me I am definitely missing the flat water fun I was having in Egypt. Now as any experienced kiter knows (which I hasten to add am not) it is good to experience different conditions and I am the luckiest girl on the planet right now to have been able to kite some of the places that I have kited. I love the waves in Essaouira but after a while I become gutless to try things because the wind is very gusty. I need to man up I guess as English wind is predominately the same.
SO I spend the day reading and hanging out with the boys at the Vagabond (again) and then head back to the riad for a spag bog and a glass of wine.
Riad Zahara is a great place for kiters and windsurfers alike, Xavier the man that owns it and his son are both into the watersports and it has a very cute little school on the side of the hotel. The riad does good food and wine at a reasonable price and the place is is always clean and tidy. I have become very accustomed to walking around bare foot and here is great for that and you don’t end up with black feet!! I was sad to say good bye to the team this afternoon and I am sure that I will definitely be visiting there again sometime and I will happily sell it to anyone who is interested in a kite destination that also has some things to do when there is no wind!!
I joined the Club Mistral team for the time I will there and they are awesome, all friendly and great kiters and happy to help you out and show you a few things here and there. They seemed expensive if you wanted to do lessons there but I am not intouch with what is good or not to be honest!!
SO now to Dakhla. I am excited about this as it is a big big flat water lagoon and I will be able to spend good time on the water without getting battered by the waves!!

Session 27 - Essaouira, Morocco
Wind – 18 to 28knots (yes that gusty)
Kite – Ozone C4 7m
Conditions – Gusty and waves (still about 1m)
Time on the water – 1 hour
Well well well, didn’t the wind come into today!! After yesterday where I was struggling with the old feeling of low wind kiting this was the complete opposite. The wind came in in good measure about 11am and got more and more and more! I braved the 7m (which if I am honest I don’t think I had pumped up enough) and got on the water. I think this was possibly the gustiest conditions I have yet to encounter and will make my return to Egypt so easy!! I have never found flying my 7m this hard. It is so responsive at the best of times so to fly in winds which were at least 10knots different in range was hard for me. After fighting my 10m for the previous 3 or 4 sessions my 7m felt so surprisingly light on the harness, I think in time this will be a great kite for me to do freestyle with as it is just so easy to fly, no so much on this occasion. I have progressively started to enjoy the waves more and more and have started enjoying getting good air from popping of them, but now I have started to jump when I get the pop, pulling the bar in and wow what a day to do it!!! I got spanked!! I pop, I pull the bar in thinking OK this is fun and a massive gust of wind comes over the headland and lofts me so much higher than I ever planned!! The most impressive part as even though I got lofted and then followed it with getting dropped like a sack of shit, I still landed it LOL. God I am getting better!
The rest of the session was fairly much the same, getting stupidly upwind due to holding my kite low and edging like fuck and then having to do a downwind jaunt because I was interrupting the surfers and then I was just in by the shore line, (shoreline on my left) and I am just about to turn and smack. A guy on a north gaygus comes and takes me clean out with his kite, straight into my left eye! Bastard. It hurt too. Then a gust comes and lofts me leaving my board about 45m behind me, trying hard to fight against waves / tide and get back to my board without being able to body drag, he was still there so I couldn’t move my kite at all. So I fight and fight and eventually the guilty German mans drops my board on the beach – so I suppose that was a cleared debt. I went back out for about 20 mins but my eye hurt too much and I needed some food as my energy had been completely drained.
I finished my session and joined the boys at the cafe for some wine (are you surprised = nope) and then Soufiane and myself went out that night to the medina. He took me to a lovely restaurant, fully Moroccan. I had lovely food and loads of giggling. The restaurant is owned by a French lady who has moved there many years ago, wow what a character!! Soufiane calls her big mamma and she is now on her 7th husband. I had something called a pastisse I think, which was spicy Moroccan chicken wrapped in a type of pastry, and baby squids for starters. It was gorgeous. Obviously the night was young so we headed to a bar for a few mohitos and then called it a day!!

Session 26 - Essaouira, Morocco
Wind – 12 – 14 knots
Kite – Ozone C4 10m
Conditions – waves small but fun
Aim to practise me toe to heel again
For the first time on this leg of the trip I have managed to get a good night’s sleep and managed to eat some food without feeling sick straight afterwards. So I awake early, full of energy ready to take on the day and guess what?? Sods law – no fucking wind!!
I pump up the 10m and try anyway and after my kite falling out of the sky for the third time I give up and decide to get a beer! The Vagabond Cafe team were welcoming as always. For those of you who have thoughts that Morocco is full of men who will hassle you, this is not the case with Essaouira. Yes there are a few people who are keen to get you into their shops but nothing on the scale of Marrakesh, which for me travelling alone is a warming thought. The staff at Vagabond look after me and their food is spectacular and the wine and beer equally as good!!
After a rest in the cafe I decide that I really need to try and get back on the water. I launch and off I go, a little more wind than before and I get to playing back the waves again which I have really, and surprisingly, enjoyed. I was on the water for about an hour in the end and the wind got progressively less and less so I decided to call it a day and pack up.
I didn’t do anything that night, I was tired after a total of about 2 hours in the waves and just wanted to chat to Ben online to be honest! So I went back to the ever welcoming Riad Zahra and enjoyed a second dish of spaghetti Bolognese then to bed!!

Session 25 - Essaouira, Morocco
Wind - 17-20 Knots
Kite - Ozone C4 10m (a little depower)
Water - clean waves about 1m and good chop to play on
Aim - nothing specific!!
I awoke this morning tired even after 8 hours sleep. I felt sick and not sure why but hey. I manned up and went to the kite station anyway and got my 10m set up for the day.
I had three outings on the water in all as after about 40 mins each time I was tired and started making stupid mistakes, hooray for the Vagabond Cafe next door...........turns out their Hot choc is as good as their coffee and wine!!
3 good short sessions and I am now jumping over the waves instead of popping off them so I am happy about that. I also managed to practise my heel to toe side turns which is REALLY hard in waves and gusty wind!!! I miss Flag beach for their constant wind (and cute hot staff ;o0)
Tomorrow is another day, loaded on carbs and ready for a good hard day, look slike 7m weather too which will be awesome for wave riding!!

Session 24 - Essaouira, Morocco
Wind - About max 15knots
Kite - Ozone C4 10m
Water - Small waves but clean and some chop - max 1.5m
Aim to ENJOY!!
After my first session here I encountered 2 days of no wind which I really suffered from, I was homesick, bored and lethargic. I am sure that Essaouira has plenty to offer when not kiting but I had no enthusiasm to find out. I think I was potentially travelled out from Lanza with Caz and Vyx. So I just chilled and got a little depressed if I am honest. I finished Harry Potter 6 which, I hasten to add, did not help as the ending really wasn't conducive to being happy!! So I was pleased that the forecast for afternoon wind finally came in.
I had a couple of hours on the water in total, wave riding takes it out of you so much more than the flat glass of Egypt. I always though it would be harder but this is unreal. I had no real aims today other than to enjoy the water and that I did. I have finally found a cute spot where the sets are regular and the wind direction lets you get upwind enough for you to play on the waves instead of just being beaten up by them. I am sure this is mostly in part due to my awesome new board (not so new now) as she is great for upwind ability and enough flex to cope with the waves, even for a very small (in comparison) freestyle board. I also think I am becoming much more competent with my kiting, confidence and balls are growing and I am really looking forward to getting on flat water again to practise what I have learned.
This is an awesome spot and I am really looking forward to spending more time on the water as the forecast looks good for the next few days, it is a great place to learn but it can be a little gusty - hey so is England!!
Looking forward to tomorrow!!

Session 23 - Essaouira, Morocco
Wind - 15knots max 19. (gusty as hell)
Kite - Ozone C4 10m
Conditions - chop and small waves
Aim - to get to know the spot and wind
So when I went to explore the spot yesterday I was amazed at how big the bay actually is. I am not sure why but I had envisaged it was smaller than it is. I made myself at home in the Club Mistral and then got out on the water for about 3 hours in total (with a lunch break in between to have some food and a cold beer). The water here is colder than the Canaries in the morning so the advise of the summer suit is to be taken, not like me who is kiting in a pair of wetsuit shorts and a rash vest! After an hour my feet were cramped with cold and also probably due to the lack of kiting I had done over the previous 2 weeks!! I had a good hour out on the waves and practised a few jumps here and there and to be honest just enjoyed toying with the smaller waves and getting some good pop of them, they are much more fun and consistant here than in Lanzarote.
After Lunch I went back into the water for about 2 hours and followed the same line with the progress. I was gutted to not get any space to practise the tricks that I have learned as the Moroccan locals seemed enamoured by a female kiter and would not stay out of my way!!
I came in for a break and some water and got chatting to an English guy who was using the locker next to me. I know his face from somewhere and I couldn't quite place it. It came to me eventually that I think I went to school with him but I wasn't sure. After a short while him and his GF were ready to launch on the beach so I offered my help, and whilst doing so braved asking the question...... "Don't I know you from somewhere? Did you go to Wycliffe? Daniel Ridgeway isn't it?" As it turned out it was him and my memory for faces had yet again surpassed me! They both went kiting and I ended up helping his HF who, god love her, was insistent on trying to kite in about 12knots on a 9m. It failed but she did very well. Good fun for me and great practise for her. We eventually had a few drinks after and agreed to meet for dinner. It was a very good meal in a local fish restaurant on the harbour, the food was amazing and although it was expensive in local terms it wasn't for what we would have paid in England. It was amazing to catch up on the school gossip and have someone to eat with for a change.
Until tomorrow. No wind forecasted so a lazy day for the next 2 days. Fingers crossed the wind comes back soon, as travelling here alone is a little lonely.
Morocco - The next leg
I first visited Morocco in 2007, with my mum, for a week in Marrakesh and I really enjoyed it. So when I arrived in Marrakesh airport for the second time I was surprised to feel an air of familiarity. The new terminal building is now finished and the process of coming through has become a tad more efficient. I was met, as promised, by my taxi driver who swiftly took my body bag across the car park to his taxi. After reading up on my transfer times I expected a 2 - 2.5 hour transfer. I was already shattered following a 2 hour delay at Madrid, seems the plane couldn't be bothered to leave Marrakesh on time to come to Madrid! So when i climbed into the car I begin to switch off and enjoy the hustle and bustle that is the streets of Morocco at night and remembering fond memories of hanging out in the horse and cart with my mum! After we left the city limits it was dark and my ability to stay awake was floundered but the uncontrollable urge to sleep. I woke up in a small town and thought oh god please dont let this be me...... as it turns out we kept driving through and I am happy to say I fell back asleep. I eventually arrived at the Riad Zahra at at about 3.30am, about 4 hours after I had hoped! With the delay and the journey taking longer than planned, ie 3.5 hours not 2, I was ready for bed!!
I awoke the next morning and headed down for a very tasty and yet simple breakfast and then head off to discover the local kiting spots. My first day here was very windy and I simply did not have the energy to kite. I wasn't deliberating it was a simple decision made on previous experiences, when I kite when tired I hurt myself and I don't want to ruin the rest of my trip. So i opted for checking out the local kite station and then exploring the Medina and surroundings a little prior to night fall. With a very active (yet very smelly) port the town was bustling with fish sellers and people and the Medina here is no less active than the one in Marrakesh. I haven't yet braved going into any of the shops, knowing full well that I will end up buying a heap of things that I simply don't need!
That night I ate in my hotel, too tired to brave the hassle of that I would probably have to endure in the Medina, the food was simple and very tasty, following several week with insufficient vegetables! I slept well that night.
The Riad I am staying in is beautiful. Friendly staff and a cute and quiet setting away from the hustle and bustle but awesomely close (as in 3 minutes walk) from the Club Mistral. I opted to pay to keep my kites there as included in the kit storage is also rescue. Now as the wind here is predominately cross on so either way you would end up washed up on the beach at some point but you never know, and for the sake of 63 quid for the 7 days I am kiting here for it suits me fine.
Now for an early night and a good session tomorrow.

mail to Active Adevntures
Dear Adam,
I am now in Morocco and thought that after such an awesome trip I owed you and your team a letter (mail).
Firstly thank you for collecting me so promptly after such a long journey from Fuerta to Costa Teguise. It was lovely to see a friendly face and feel so welcomed. It was an awesome spot to end up in as everything was so local too, so thank you again for showing me that it made me feel at home.
When i first booked my trip I will be honest, I was going to use Waveriders for the whole journey, purely because of the Kite Safari they offered me in Eygpt. After further thoughts I decided to give Vyky a call, as I had dealt with her previously for 2 holidays and friends have also booked trips through her to other places. After all why not bow to the knowledge of a girl who lives and works these islands? She cooked be 3 weeks at a great price and I couldn't be happier. Admittedly the first encounter with Fuerta was hard going, my own fault i guess for not booking beach transfers etc and doing more research into where the apartments were in relation to the beach etc etc but it turned out great! I really enjoyed sharing with Annabel and Christmas (as explained when we met) and I think I would have had a lonely time in the evenings otherwise, so massive thank you to Vyks for thinking about that. The lessons I received on flag beach from Ben and his team were awesome, I really enjoyed the follow my leader type lesson, instead of having some 18 year old yell at me from the beach. I learned more and had alot more fun than I ever had envisaged. They are a hard working team and something that you would never see back home, the hours the conditions etc, Ben is a lucky man to have them. Red Shark could learn a few things for sure!!
Following that I moved to Lanza, where Vyky out my in touch with her house mate and he took me kiting and without him I doubt I ever would have braved the condition at Famara alone! Just to have someone at a similar level was awesome and after a long days travel it was lovely to just hang out with a good English cuppa at his / her flat like i wasn't living on the bare minimal again. On a few occasions afterwards Vyky was awesome, giving me and Caroline hints on where to visit on the island, where to eat and what to do when the wind looked too scary down the beaten track at Famara, I know we have talked over the previous months but until then she was an acquaintance and I know class her as a friend. In the evenings taking me to small Spanish places that I really love (admittedly it cost me fuel and a few drinks - dam you sales girl ;)) but well worth it to stray away from the English bars and cafes I so dearly hate. Her relationship with Miguel also pointed in the direction of some cracking surf beaches, which I got to enjoy when I had no wind, no fat pink English people and just a cracking view or 5 ;O).
It was also great to meet Greg, finally! After a few mails and a conversation here and there on the phone, his knowledge of the wind and the tides really helped when I didn't go kiting with Simen.
Adam, thank you to your team basically. I am travelling alone which sucks arse at the best of times to be honest and I can only hope that when I am working on the kite safari in Egypt I can work with them to sell this to the UK public, as more girls need to be treated the way I have been, good staff, good contacts and good advise at a good price.
I am currently in Essaouira and this is an amazing spot - Greg review will be on my blog! (as will Dakhla!)
Thanks again to you all.
Vyks - look after that arm dude, wont heal if you get cross with it.
Miss you all x

The beginning of the next leg and good bye to the last.
Well I thought that as i have an hour to kill (at least) in Madrid airport i though that I would type up some of my blog in hope that I can get some wireless in Morocco!
I have finally left the Canaries after what seems like a long time. I did about 22 das here in total but wow didn’t I cover some ground. With kiting sessions at Flag Beach in Fuerteventura and Famara in Lanzarote I know for a fact that the next leg will be more fun as my confidence has grown and also I am no longer just looking for flat water and consistent wind. My kiting has come on heaps since I have been here and although I may not be a freestyle guru, I am definitely stronger and more open to trying a few things on choppy and wavey water.
Bella and Christmas were priceless in Fuerteventura and I am still so happy that Vyky put us in the flat together, with them along with the boys at Flag Beach I enjoyed Fuerta much more than I ever expected to. It is a funny looking little town (Correlejo I mean), very Spanish yet seems to have been attacked by the English 70s tourists just a little too much, high prices also don’t help a budgeting kiter as Lanza is so very much cheaper. I was due to spend a fortnight in Lanzarote, the first week with my best mate Caroline, where we explored the beaches and the national park etc (as detailed earlier), the little car of choice was priceless for this! The second week I had hoped that I would be kiting but with the early part of the week scuppered with no wind I decided to head early to Fuerta and hang with Ben until I left. Now I am not going to go into details about the relationship that has grown with Ben, as if you are close close mate you already know and then there are a few things that just aren’t meant for a blog! I hope that those of you close to me will be around in July when he is coming home for a while. It is after all all about the hot blonde kiting instructors and the added bonus is this one comes with a brain and happens to be the kindest man i have met in a long time. So running with that for a while. To anyone who read my old blog – he is not like any of the ones on that list so you are safe!!
Lanza when I wasn’t in Fuerta this week blessed me with 2 great days hanging out with Vyky. A girl who booked me my first kiting holiday at the tail end of 2008, we have been intouch since and I have booked 3 holidays through her since also (active adventures.com). Over the months we have had chats via mail and phone and it was awesome to meet with her and hang out like old mates. I am missing her heaps since I left and I can only thank her for the art of power tanning. I hope that I will see her again soon for sure!
So now the next chunk of Africa begins. Essaouira and Dakhla. The later infamous with many kiters around the world for possessing the largest lagoon for freestyle with flat, waist height water which many find so helpful to progress with their tricks. The former famous for good wave riding although tame nearer the shore and ok for beginner to advanced. I look forward to introducing myself to the local centre there in the morning (first thing to investigate is the need for rescue cover!!) and then I will get back on the board for the first time in over a week. Essaoiura intrigues me as I am really looking forward to eating local cuisine (i went to Marrakesh 3 years ago) which is mainly cous cous and tangines which are cheap and nutritious and also exploring some of the local culture like I got to do with Vyky this week in Lanza. Dakhla for me will be a do or die 10 days! As it is the last 10 days of my trip (for now) I need to man up and get on the freestyle and jumping train! I will have wind for 7 hours a day and I plan to use. As it is in the centre of the desert there is no nightlife to distract me and not much in the way of parties from what I have heard so I have 2 books and a whole day to kite. The perfect end to the trip.
Where next is the question, with several options open to me now I have 3 weeks to work it out and see what happens ;o)

Lanzarote, Costa Teguise 2
After my last session on Saturday I have not managed to get out on the water due to a severe lack of wind :O(
Sunday - Spent the day chillin with Caroline on her last day, we basically just hung out by the pool and read and nattered and I got to make the most of her being there before she went home to the UK. It has been awesome to have her over and I can only apologise again for getting her grit blasted!
Sunday night - Ben came over from Fuerta for his day off and a kite session on the monday, it was as ever good to see him also!
Monday - we got up early to catch Famara at low tide (high tide at approx 4.30pm) and we eventually got to the beach about 11am i think. There was NO wind. Gutted but hey. We pumped up the 12m North and the 10m C4 and prayed that it would come in.... and we wait! One thing that I have learned from kiting is patience! The wind did fill in about 4pm that afternoon but not enough for my 10m so I got a good little show from Ben toying around on his wave board which was awesome! I had a really chilled day and we hung out for dinner and drinks in the evening!
Tuesday - Headed to Fuerta but still no wind there! So I ended up having a good chill day with loads of coffee in a little cafe and then I managed to go to the Happy Days bar on the sea front for a late lunch and a fair chunk of white rioja! Ben came to collect me after work and we collapsed with a pizza and chilled out! Happy Days indeed.
Wednesday - Back to Lanza and all about the Girlie day. I spent the day with Vyky, sunbathing and chilling out and making sure she didn't hurt her arm any more than she has already. We took a tour of the island in the car of choice and eventually ended up in Orzola at this amazing beach where we read and nattered and dunked in the sea to cool off! Hard times. We journeyed back to the cutest little very Spanish village, where, Vyky claimed was a little bar / bistro that served the best brownies...... I wasn't convinced, but oh my god!! We rock up to what is the oldest building in the village and the most beautiful little bar / bistro I have seen on my travels, and she introduces me to her friends who run it! One glass fo wine and 2 brownies please..... I expected them to come on a plate but no. They were cut into its and served on a bed of delicious vanilla ice cream with a strawberry on it, I can only say it is like a good session, i never wanted the food to finish!!! AMAZING!! After a chilled hour there we headed home for a shower and then we cooked up a very chilled dinner and I started to fall asleep on the sofa whilst watching Bourne. I had a lovely day just chilling out and it was ace to be able to go round her house, made me feel like i was home and not living out of a sterile apartment just for a little while.
Thursday - Much of the muchness really! Headed to the beach early and got the morning sunshine before it started to fry me about mid afternoon (heatwave here at the moment - reached 39c the day before). More reading and chatting and cooling off in the water and then home to pack my kit. I decided that as there is no wind and I have no one to kite with in Lanza even if there was I would head back to Fuerta and stay with Ben till I leave on Sunday. Had a very chilled ferry journey back across, sadly had to say good bye to the Car of choice (love her!). So Ben met me at the ferry which was a really awesome surprise and we headed off out for a very yummy thai green curry.
Friday - Lazy lazy day indoors. I have a sun blister on my face (yes mum I have been using cream) so I am trying to get rid of it before I get to Morocco as the salt water will just make it scar and I don't want that! So today I have applied for a few jobs and checked out the conditions in Morocco for next week and generally just pottered about. Tonight Ben has a fashion show type thing for a local surf shop so get to go chill at that and have a few drinks.
