Lanzarote, Costa Teguise 2

After my last session on Saturday I have not managed to get out on the water due to a severe lack of wind :O(

Sunday - Spent the day chillin with Caroline on her last day, we basically just hung out by the pool and read and nattered and I got to make the most of her being there before she went home to the UK. It has been awesome to have her over and I can only apologise again for getting her grit blasted!

Sunday night - Ben came over from Fuerta for his day off and a kite session on the monday, it was as ever good to see him also!

Monday - we got up early to catch Famara at low tide (high tide at approx 4.30pm) and we eventually got to the beach about 11am i think. There was NO wind. Gutted but hey. We pumped up the 12m North and the 10m C4 and prayed that it would come in.... and we wait! One thing that I have learned from kiting is patience! The wind did fill in about 4pm that afternoon but not enough for my 10m so I got a good little show from Ben toying around on his wave board which was awesome! I had a really chilled day and we hung out for dinner and drinks in the evening!

Tuesday - Headed to Fuerta but still no wind there! So I ended up having a good chill day with loads of coffee in a little cafe and then I managed to go to the Happy Days bar on the sea front for a late lunch and a fair chunk of white rioja! Ben came to collect me after work and we collapsed with a pizza and chilled out! Happy Days indeed.

Wednesday - Back to Lanza and all about the Girlie day. I spent the day with Vyky, sunbathing and chilling out and making sure she didn't hurt her arm any more than she has already. We took a tour of the island in the car of choice and eventually ended up in Orzola at this amazing beach where we read and nattered and dunked in the sea to cool off! Hard times. We journeyed back to the cutest little very Spanish village, where, Vyky claimed was a little bar / bistro that served the best brownies...... I wasn't convinced, but oh my god!! We rock up to what is the oldest building in the village and the most beautiful little bar / bistro I have seen on my travels, and she introduces me to her friends who run it! One glass fo wine and 2 brownies please..... I expected them to come on a plate but no. They were cut into its and served on a bed of delicious vanilla ice cream with a strawberry on it, I can only say it is like a good session, i never wanted the food to finish!!! AMAZING!! After a chilled hour there we headed home for a shower and then we cooked up a very chilled dinner and I started to fall asleep on the sofa whilst watching Bourne. I had a lovely day just chilling out and it was ace to be able to go round her house, made me feel like i was home and not living out of a sterile apartment just for a little while.

Thursday - Much of the muchness really! Headed to the beach early and got the morning sunshine before it started to fry me about mid afternoon (heatwave here at the moment - reached 39c the day before). More reading and chatting and cooling off in the water and then home to pack my kit. I decided that as there is no wind and I have no one to kite with in Lanza even if there was I would head back to Fuerta and stay with Ben till I leave on Sunday. Had a very chilled ferry journey back across, sadly had to say good bye to the Car of choice (love her!). So Ben met me at the ferry which was a really awesome surprise and we headed off out for a very yummy thai green curry.

Friday - Lazy lazy day indoors. I have a sun blister on my face (yes mum I have been using cream) so I am trying to get rid of it before I get to Morocco as the salt water will just make it scar and I don't want that! So today I have applied for a few jobs and checked out the conditions in Morocco for next week and generally just pottered about. Tonight Ben has a fashion show type thing for a local surf shop so get to go chill at that and have a few drinks.
